Bruce 700 – Celtic Connections

Stirling & District Schools Pipe Band have hit the stage again to perform in this years Celtic Connections Festival. The band reprised their part in the epic ‘The Bruce 700’ written by the revered Highland piper and Gaelic scholar Allan MacDonald.

Featuring a cast of some 50 musicians on pipes, strings, bass, vocals and percussion, the music vividly and movingly evokes the sounds, actions and emotions of the Battle of Bannockburn. The band first performed the piece at its premiere in the Albert Halls as a key event during Stirling 2014 to high acclaim.
