Finalists in the Scots Trad Music Awards!

After an amazing few years we are super excited to announce that Stirling & District Schools Pipe Band are finalists in the Best Pipe Band category of the Scots Trad Music Awards!  This is a huge achievement for our young people and all involved with the band. It is well deserved recognition of the level of commitment shown by our members and the entire ethos of our ‘family’ in promoting what we do and love best. We couldn’t be prouder or more excited!

The aim of the Awards is to highlight Scotland’s wonderful traditional music in all its forms and to create a high profile opportunity which will bring the music and music industry into the spotlight. The winners will be crowned at a glistening ceremony held at the Caird Hall in Dundee on the 3rd December and we hope to be up on that stage with the best of them.

We are a relatively small band in the greater scheme of things, but what we lack in numbers and resources we make up for with passion and soul, and that’s what these awards are all about – the joy of playing and sharing!

We would ask that as many of you vote for us as possible – its easy and takes less than a minute of your time. Just click on the link below – its that simple!

Band Members Make the Grade

We are happy to announce that an amazing 4 of our band members have been accepted into the National Youth Pipe Band of Scotland. Pipers Tom Hayashi and Euan Crawford-McKee join drummers Ryan Brown and Scott Patterson to swell the ranks of this non-competing cutting edge performance pipe band for 10-25 year olds.  Launched in 2002, the National Youth Pipe Band is the first and only organisation of its kind to bring together Scotland’s most talented young musicians at a national level. Membership is drawn from across Scotland’s 32 councils, and young pipers and and drummers come from an array of different competing bands and musical backgrounds, brought together as a collection of the very best chosen to play for their country.

Well done boys! We are all very proud of you!
